Indulging in Starbucks

January 14, 2010  |  Chengdu, China, Sichuan, Travel, photos

These are the sorts of things you miss when you live in Rural China for five months.

Luzhou doesn’t offer any good coffees or hot chocolates. There’s no Starbucks or equivalent, because the city is quite small. The best coffee we’ve had in Luzhou is from KFC. So when we go to a big city like Chengdu, we visit Starbucks.

Enjoying Starbucks

On Sunday we went to Starbucks, and really made the most of it. We ordered a Grande Hot Chocolate for myself & an Espresso for Joel. After a while, Joel went and got a Venti Cappucino for him and a Banana and Walnut muffin for me. We also received a free coffee on top of that. So I went and got a Tall Hazelnut Hot Chocolate (not pictured).

When we arrived in Malaysia the next morning, we were in the airport Starbucks from 3am until about 9am.

We’ve had our fill of Starbucks.

  1. Hey there

I read your writing in the guestbook of starbucks (western tower). You two are right…
I am living in China for over 5 months now (in Deyang near Chengdu) but there is nothing to order a really good coffee. I also like it to go to starbucks in chengdu.

    Greetings
