Lunch last week in Chengdu. Yak pie, Yak dumplings & barley rice.

October 9, 2009  |  Chengdu, China, Food

A nice little Tibetan restaurant in Chengdu. The yak was great!

How good do the dumplings look!

Dumpling with a bit of chilli sauce.

The meal cost us 40 Yuan, which is only $6.50 AUD!

*This is the same Tibetan Restaurant that we ate at last year when we were in Chengdu:

  1. Yes those dumplings look so well-made and I want to plop one into my mouth! Curious to know what that pie-looking-thing is in the first photo.

  2. The pie in the first photo, is Yak pie. Just a simple pastry with small juicy pieces of Yak & some onion on the inside. Absolutely delicious. For a bit more flavour, you can dip it into chilli sauce.

Thanks for taking a look :)
